Bedtime Prayer

When I was a kid, I was taught a simple prayer to say before bed. It went like this:
Now I lay me down to sleep;
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
If I should die before I wake;
I pray the Lord my soul to take.
Bless (everybody), amen.

I kind of enjoyed saying it each night, but as I got older, I didn't like praying about dying, and the words just didn't feel right. For one thing, "Lord" was too vague, I wanted to talk to God.
So, after a number of decades missing it, I recently came up with this:
Now I lay me down to rest;
I pray Dear God to do my best;
If I should live until the day;
Please God show me your way.
Please bless:
evil people to get too smart to be a curse.
good people to get too smart to make things worse.
Goodnight, Benevolence, Truth and Life.
(or Goodness, Objectivity and Duration)
Perhaps some will like this better, but I really don't expect payment for it. The stuff below, about helping us, is just in the template (for new documents), and can be ignored.
