Small Burns Healed Quickly:

This is a simple file to try to prevent damage I feel may be caused by a supposed health authority claiming that anyone with a small burn should NOT put ice on it! People who swallow this, lose a very effective treatment. I suspect the "authority" is a theorist only and has decided that there is a problem with ice without trying it.

It's true that IF ice is much colder than its melting temperature it could cause frost-bite. But if an ordinary water ice cube is melting (wet), it is up around 32 deg. F. and unless there is salt or other material that alters its melting temperature, a single small cube cannot cause your tissues to freeze in normally warm (>70 F) surroundings.

I've used ice on small burns on myself over a period of about 30 years, and if the burn is not brown or charred and the ice has been applied within about the first minute and I keep the burn area in contact with it until I feel the pain caused by the cold, I've hardly had it blister or even be noticeably sore.

If you have circulatory or other unusual physical issues, please consult your healthcare provider about possible dangers of this remedy.
